While guiding students through their daily homework, our tutors noticed a critical barrier: many children struggled with reading comprehension and basic phonetical awareness. Recognizing that a strong foundation is vital for academic success, we launched the Star Reader Program—a specialized Saturday initiative focused entirely on academic empowerment.
- Schedule: Saturdays | 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon
- Target Group: Younger learners from Infant 1 to Standard 4
- Our Approach:
- Baseline Assessments: Students take an initial placement assessment and are grouped by their specific reading levels to ensure personalized attention.
- Curriculum-Aligned Lessons: We utilize an adapted version of the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) classroom lesson plans, delivering structured interventions directly from the Reading Intervention Program Belize (RIBS) manual.
- Focused Empowerment: This program is strictly academic. By stripping away extracurricular activities, we maximize our three hours together to focus purely on phonetical awareness, reading fluency, and comprehension.
- Healthy Fuel: Just like our weekday program, Saturday sessions include a nutritious snack and Lunch to keep young minds sharp and energized.
