Ira Nicholson

Founding Board Member

Ira is currently VP of Insurance Operations at Alliance Bernstein. He is a graduate of St. John’s College in Belize, where he was born and raised. He took SJC to the city championship and won. Ira was part of the Crystal Stadium Belize Basketball Team competing locally and represented Belize internationally on several occasions.

After moving to the US, in 1993, he was recruited by Basketball Coach Al Jacoutot of the University of Mt. St. Vincent, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. Graduating Cum Laude with a 3.5 GPA.

Ira is the NCAA men’s all time Block Shot  Leader, was named MBWA player of the year, and has earned a position as one of the top five scorers in the University of Mt. St. Vincent’s history with 1,170 points. In addition he holds the University of Mt. St. Vincent’s record for most rebounds and most block shots. Ira was inducted in the University of Mt. St. Vincent Hall of Fame in 2016. His entire team was inducted in the University of Mt. St. Vincent Hall of Fame in 2023 for being the first team in school history to make it to the NCAA tournament.

He is a father of four and currently lives in Nashville, TN with his wife Aggie.

Sean “Soup” Campbell

Founding Board Member

Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, Sean fell in love with the game of basketball at a very young age.  He honed his skills on the playgrounds of New York City and attended All Hallows High School (1988-1991) in the Bronx.  He continued his collegiate career at The University of Mount Saint Vincent (1991-1995) and became the third all time leading scorer (1,594 points) and third all time leading rebounder (773 rebounds). Sean graduated with a B.A. in Computer Science from the University of Mount Saint Vincent and was inducted into the University of Mount Saint Vincent’s Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017.

As a hobby, Sean began officiating CYO and high school basketball games in 2005.  Over the next ten years he would rise through the ranks of officiating junior college, Division III and Division II basketball.  In 2015 he began officiating Division I college basketball and is still currently active. This past season (2023- 2024) Sean officiated the championship games for the Patriot League and the Ivy League.

Sean is a Senior Registered Client Associate in UBS’s Private Wealth Management division where he focuses on business operations and client service request.  Prior to UBS, Sean was a Client Associate in Merrill Lynch’s Private Banking and Investment Group for 20 years.

Daniel Rochmann

Founding Board Member

Born and raised in Guatemala, Daniel has been a Managing Partner of Namkori LLC, a commercial real estate investment company in Pittsburgh, PA, since 2003. He is also the Managing Partner of Rochmann Ventures, a consulting firm specializing in company turnarounds, structuring corporate financing and strategic consulting for SME’s primarily in Latin America.

He recently held the position of Executive Director for a New York hedge fund where he developed and lead a regional network to originate and manage assets throughout Latin America, with a notable presence in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru that focused on large, structured finance transactions, company acquisitions, and turnarounds with an emphasis on major regional commodity exporters.

Daniel holds a B.S. in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Utah. He has lived in the U.K, El Salvador, Ecuador, Panama and Chile. He is an avid road cyclist and single rower. A father of four, he currently resides with his wife Shaun in Edgeworth-Sewickley, Pennsylvania.

Christopher Coye

Founding Board Member

Christopher Coye, born in Belize City, Belize on April 16th 1972, was admitted to practice law in Belize in 1999. He attended the University of Texas at Austin where he received a M.S. in Economics (1994). In 1997, Christopher attained his LLB (Hons) from the University of West Indies and his Legal Education Certificate (LEC) from the Norman Manley Law School (Jamaica).

Christopher has 20 years of experience in law as well as other major institutions located in Belize. He is a past Chairman of the Integrity Commission, and has worked with the International Financial Services Commission (Member), Belize International Financial Services Association (President), Belize Bank International Limited (Director of International Financial Services Division), Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (TEP), the International Tax Planning Association (Member), Belize Elementary School and Belize High School (Chairman).

As of November 16th 2020, on the invitation of the Prime Minister of Belize, Christopher has taken up the position of Minister of State in the Ministries of Finance, Economic Development and Investment for the Government of Belize.

Henry Anderson

Founding Board Member

Henry is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, spanning various industries such as tertiary education, health, communications, agribusiness, automotive, logistics, and banking. His diverse background underscores his versatility and deep understanding of national development and multiple market dynamics.

He joined the DFC as Chairman in 2021 and became CEO in 2023. Under his stewardship DFC is now profitable with portfolio growth outpacing economic growth while achieving best-ever portfolio quality. He is spearheading a comprehensive change program aimed at digitally transforming the organization and empowering the DFC team to provide excellent client service.

In addition to his role at DFC, Henry is involved in governance and regulatory oversight. He has served on numerous boards locally and regionally, contributing to both private companies and regulatory bodies. He is currently a member of the Board of the Latin American and Caribbean Association of Development Finance Institutions (ALIDE), where he continues to influence development finance practices across the region.

Henry was a Fulbright Scholar and holds an MBA from Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business in Wellesley, Massachusetts. He advocates for “FINISHIATIVE,” a philosophy emphasizing the importance of completing initiatives rather than merely starting them.

Maurice Leroy Hardiman

Managing Director

Maurice Leroy Hardiman was born and raised in Belize, where he has been working in various youth programs and projects for the past 15 years. Maurice most recently was a Project Coordinator for the NGO, ProWorld, whose main focus was on Study Abroad Programs, Health Education, Environmental Awareness, Volunteering and Social Economic Development.

Maurice has also partnered with Local and Government Organizations such as Department of Human Services, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and several Village Councils.

He has assisted in community needs based programs, such as organizing Community and School Gardens, Paint a School Program, establishing a Youth Empowerment Center, Tutoring Programs and Chess Clubs.  He has been building relationships and community partnerships in Punta Gorda, the many rural villages that make up Toledo District, as well as other parts of Belize.

Maurice currently resides in Punta Gorda’s Cattle Landing Community.

Ian Lizarraga

Ian Lizarraga is currently the Managing Partner of The Belize Collection of Resorts, Restaurants, and Residences, now Belize’s largest hotel group in the country, boasting 7 hotels and 3 more in development for launch beginning in 2024.

With 30 years of experience in the industry, Ian has developed/ managed some of the most critically acclaimed hotels and restaurants in the country and has served as the Chairman of the Belize Tourism Board.

Ian is also the co-founder of the Belize Children’s Program which has sent almost 500 Belizean children to the Shriner’s Hospital in the USA for free orthopedic help.

Christopher Enriquez

Founding Board Member

Christopher is a young dynamic entrepreneur, politician, and community activist from Belmopan, Belize. Passionate about health and wellness, sports, and community development, he has been deeply involved in various sporting disciplines since his teenage years, with basketball as his main focus. During his senior year of high school, Christopher achieved significant success by winning both the national basketball championship and the national high jump title. His athletic prowess earned him a student-athlete scholarship to Galen University, where he continued to win national titles. He completed his studies an earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing in 2019.

Christopher currently serves as an entrepreneur, councilman, and executive member of the Capital City Basketball Association. He is also actively involved with the Belize Youth Movement, continually making impactful contributions to his community and beyond.
